In the fertilizer field

Establishing a new factory (kima 2) by using the natural gas to produce Ammonia with capacity of 1200 ton / day and that to produce :
 

• 22000 ton / year of Nitrate Kima fertilizer 33.50 % Nitrogen from old Kima factory (kima 1).

• 530000 ton / year of urea fertilizer 46.50 % Nitrogen from the new Kima factory (Kima 2).

• In this field with all pleasure from us we would like to preach the a contract is already signed to buy and sell the natural gas between (kima) company and the holding companies of the natural gases in 16/02/2008.

The start in the new promotion and starting the implementing steps and saving time so the company (kima) introduced a primary feasibility study to rehabilitate the company to operate with natural gas instead of the electric energy and safe 150 mega watt for the integrated net to the industrial development authority for getting the requested agreement to complete the implementing steps with stakeholders whereas the project will achieve many advantages like :

1 – Saving the supported electric energy which (kima) use it now in producing the fertilizer (estimated with 180 MW.H nearly) and use it in another project in producing energy with the prices of the ministry of electricity and energy.

2 - Using the natural gas with the world prices according to prices of the ministry of electricity and energy.

3 - Providing job opportunities direct and indirect to the youth and families in Upper Egypt (2000 worker).

4 - Providing the fertilizer for Upper Egypt and fill the gap between the demand and supply for the Nitrogen fertilizers.

5 - Redevelop (kima's) factory with a new technology to maintain the environment and terminate the pollution.

In the field of the other strategic industries

A project of producing the pure metal silicon (primary stage) which is necessary to produce the Aluminum and the new ceramic materials and producing the silicon with supreme purity (secondary stage) which is necessary for the electronic components and the solar cells for the local market and the exports.

Also in this field from our pleasure that there is a preliminary agreement with a Japanese company specialized in this field to invest with (kima) company in producing the pure silicon.

The rehabilitation for (kima's) company to operate with the natural gas.

Steps Taken Uptill Now:

• Signing a contract of the natural gas in 16/02/2009.

• The completion of preparing a study about the evaluation of the environmental impact and the activation of the participation for the civil society and in 16/06/2009 there was a listening meeting to introduce the study and activate the role of the civil society.

• Inviting the international companies which have a license of establishing projects of Ammonia and urea to get the new technology in this industry.

• Examining the offers of the companies and the consultative offices to implement the following stages : -

     1 - Preparing the bankable feasibility study.

     2 - Preparing the brochure terms and the specifications.

     3 - Introducing the tenders and take a decision and make the negotiation and the finial           contracting.

     4 - Implementing the project till final deliver stage.

• The agreement with gases and petrojet companies to specify the path of the natural gas line from Aswan city till entering in (kima) factory, and the specified area for constructing the pressure reduction room in the factory is already specified.

• The daily contracting quantity is 42 million cubic feet / day of the gas.

• The following petroleum companies obliged with the following items :

      1 - Enppi – the designs and the supervision on the project.

      2 - Petrojet – implementing the main gas line – Sohag to Aswan.

      3 - Gasco – gas reduction station – main distribution station on the main line.

      4 – Gas Misr – subsidiary gas lines and the distribution station for the residential city and the boilers.

      5 - Gas Misr Company and Gasco to implement the main station for new factory.

•The cost of connecting the natural gas to the factory gate estimated with 3 billion Egyptian pounds to be paid by the ministry of the investment – by date: 17/05/2008.

• (Kima's) company presented a request to the industrial development authority to ratification on the rehabilitation for (kima's) company to operate with natural gas by date: 15/01/2009, and the ratification was in 07/09/2009.

• The offer of (kima's) company to the supreme council of energy to ratification on the project by date: 15/01/2009 with the statement No. (4) date: 12/07/2009.

• The request of many of companies which have licenses to offer their technologies in manufacturing the Ammonia and urea stating from: 16/02/2009.

• Signing a contract of supplying (kima's) company with the natural gas with the holding company of natural gases by date: 16/06/2009.

• The completion of preparing a valuation study to the environmental impact of the project and making a listening meeting by date: 16/06/2009.

• (kima's) company has prepared a in economical feasibility study to the project and introducing it to the holding company of the chemical industries as a preliminary to hold unusual general assembly to increase the capital of the company by date: 08/06/2009.

• Signing the route of the natural gas reaching to   the factories and determine the final values room on the cadastral maps by date: 24/6/2009.

• Singing a contract with Alexandria Company for fertilizer to prepare (ITB) to make the tender which belongs to the new factory by date: 25/10/2009.

• Take approval from the environment affairs authority on studying the environment evaluation for the project by date: 25/10/2009.

• The completion of preparing the tender (ITB) which reviewed by Kima's company by date:   10/10/2009.

• Take approval of customizing a peace of land instead of the other one because of the existing of relief's preventing the expansion for the three stations of Gasco and Misr gas in a new location where the area is in south of the villas 1,2 and the rural with extend 100×80 m by date: 30/11/2009.
 

• The gas has been connected to the Boilers with the connection of the gas of the residential city (C .D west) by Misr gas by date: 02/12/2009.
 

• The competent authorities approved by date: 23/05/2010 on specifying a location for the water station of the new factory in a place called Gabal Shisha.
 

• Introduce a tender for the previous works to the corporate sponsors to implement KIMA'S project 2 by date: 16/21/2009 which is :

   Manufacturing a Ammonia unit with capacity of 1200-1350 ton Ammonia / day.

   Manufacturing urea fertilizer unit with capacity of 900 ton ammonia / day.

• (12) Companies introduced with files to implement the previous work by date: 21/01/2012. Five companies have been chosen.

• The main tender of Kima's new project (2) has been introduced among the five companies by date: 02/05/2010.

Four companies only of the five have been introduced to bevy the tender and the specifications.

• Studying the technical proposals for the four companies is current to prepare the final technical report which expected to be completed in February 2011.
